Bob Sykes was a remarkable man whose kindness, wisdom, and passion for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He possessed an incredible knowledge of many subjects and had a gift for sharing what he knew with others. Whether he was working on the farm, caring for animals, discussing history, solving problems, or simply having a conversation, Bob believed that learning never stopped.
Education was one of his greatest passions, and he had a unique ability to turn ordinary moments into meaningful lessons. To Bob, every experience was an opportunity to teach, inspire, and encourage curiosity. He found a way to make nearly every moment a teachable moment, leaving those around him with not only knowledge but a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
Bob founded Turtle Mist Farm alongside his wife, Ginger, in 2007 with a vision rooted in stewardship, sustainability, and connection to the land. His love for agriculture, nature, and lifelong learning continues to shape the farm today.
Though Bob passed away in 2022, his legacy remains deeply woven into the fabric of Turtle Mist Farm. His values continue to guide the family as they rebuild, grow, and share the farm with future generations.
Today, Ginger, Stephanie, Malia, Gavin, and Zachary proudly carry forward the dream he helped create—honoring his memory through hard work, education, compassion, and a commitment to teaching others where their food comes from and why caring for the land matters.
